About The Position

The CT Technologist II provides computed tomography and diagnostic radiography services to patients as ordered by the physician according to established standards and practices. This role serves as a resource to other technologists. May prepare patient for imaging by administering contrast through intravenous or other methods within scope of practice. This individual must be familiar with Image Gently and ALARA practices to promote low dose, high diagnostic quality exams. The CT Technologist must be focused on age-appropriate care and high standards of customer services. Must be able to address family and patient concerns and facilitate a family-centered care approach.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of outpatient and/or acute care CT Technologist experience with six (6) months in a pediatric setting.
  • Graduate from an approved education program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Graduate from an approved education program in Computed Tomography or equivalent experience/cross-training.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
  • Able to collaborate and accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Post Primary Certification (ARRT-CT) - required within nine (9) months of hire or transfer.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT).
  • California Fluoroscopy Certification (CRF).
  • Venipuncture Certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of acute care CT Technologist experience in a pediatric inpatient hospital.
  • None.
