The CT Technologist I performs routine computed tomography (CT) examinations in accordance with established protocols, policies, and safety standards, with guidance as needed. This role involves utilizing core knowledge, skills, abilities, and available resources to provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care and support services under routine or emergent conditions. Care is delivered under appropriate supervision across a variety of settings. The technologist prepares patients for procedures, correlates clinical history with physician-ordered exams, and safely administers contrast per protocol. They demonstrate the ability to recognize basic imaging artifacts and implement corrective measures, effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and the care team, and accurately transfer images and data to designated systems. Additionally, the role includes performing operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, disinfection, and basic equipment maintenance, as well as documenting in EMR/PACS and actively participating in continuing education.
