About The Position

This position is focused on developing the knowledge and skills to perform quality CT exams safely and efficiently, while providing excellent patient care. The role involves learning to perform correct scan protocols to minimize radiation exposure, adhering to radiation safety recommendations, administering contrast, explaining procedures to patients and families, maintaining the work area and equipment, and staying updated on CT technologies. The technologist will also ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and perform other assigned duties. Requirements

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
No experience required
One of the following certifications must be obtained in one year: ARRT-(R)(N)(CT) - American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT), Radiologic Technologist License - Arkansas Department of Health

Responsibilities

Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
Developing the knowledge to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
Developing knowledge of and adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA
Developing knowledge to properly administer IV and oral contrast.
Developing ability to explain exams/procedures to patients and families.
Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
Developing knowledge of current or new and evolving technologies in CT.
Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
Performs other duties as assigned.
