This position, under the designated Section Leader, is responsible for performing Computed Tomography procedures to produce high quality diagnostic films. The role operates with a level of independence, not requiring constant supervision. It involves a variety of CT procedures including basic portable, fluoroscopy, extremity and chest x-rays, basic computer skills, biopsies, drainage, trauma alerts, core CT, CT advanced level recons, neurovascular CTA, IV skills, and QA maintenance. The technologist also assists the manager with policy and procedure implementation, participates in interdepartmental committees, and acts as a preceptor for the department. The role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes and adherence to Tampa General Hospital's mission, vision, and values.
