About The Position

Akumin is hiring a CT Technologist for its Round Rock facility in a PRN position. The role is responsible for patient safety and performing high-quality CT studies, as well as communicating effectively with customers and radiologists as needed. In some instances, the technologist trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators. The COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment. Candidates who accept an offer must successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Registered Computed Tomography Technologist by the ARRT; where allowable by state, NMTCB Computed Tomography certification is acceptable in lieu of ARRT registration.
State license.
License in Medical Imaging, if applicable.
CPR certification.
Active state driver's license for technologists performing mid-day moves.
Strong customer service skills.
Organizational and multitasking skills.
Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure patient safety, including screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections and using aseptic injection techniques.
Produce high-quality diagnostic images.
Communicate effectively with customers and radiologists as needed.
Train new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators in some instances.
Troubleshoot the scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment, including monitors and PACS.
