This department is responsible for conducting computed tomography (CT) scans, providing detailed images of internal organs, bones, soft tissue, and blood vessels to help diagnose and monitor various conditions. Provides health care services applying pulsed x-ray energy to assist diagnosis or treatment. Performs CT procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure. Produces high-quality CT images while ensuring accurate image archiving and documentation. Performs equipment quality control, troubleshooting, and maintains required supplies. Verifies patient information, performs CT exams, and follows established imaging protocols. Performs venipuncture, monitors patients, and documents procedures and patient care. Applies radiation safety standards, including ALARA and pediatric imaging guidelines. Assists radiologists with procedures and completes post-processing as. Coordinates patient workflow to support efficient departmental operations. Assists with staff training, student supervision, and protocol development. Maintains compliance with accreditation, regulatory, safety, and infection prevention standards. Participates in required education, emergency preparedness, and departmental training.
