About The Position

Operates CT and auxiliary equipment, processes images, and maintains and cleans equipment. Maintains required documentation. This role involves preparing patients for exams, performing various x-ray exams according to established standards, monitoring patient conditions, and processing and maintaining exposed images. Related duties as required are also part of the scope.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program, required.
• New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, required.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam, translates examination into layman terms, and ensures consent form is obtained if necessary.
• Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards, procedures, and protocols. Positions patient for radiographs, arranges immobilization and supportive devices, and adjusts x-ray equipment to obtain correct exposure.
• Monitors patient’s condition in accordance with technical and safety standards, recognizes and reports motor abnormalities, and keys in patient history data.
• Monitors patient’s condition during the procedure and operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape.
• Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film for identification, and maintains required records.
• Utilizes film markers and ensures images are properly marked as the “right” or “left” side.
• Ensures images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification.
• Enters the exam onto the daily log sheet as needed and properly completes the correct tracking steps for each examination.
• Performs related duties, as required.
