About The Position

This role involves performing CT scans on patients, ensuring patient safety and accurate record-keeping. The technologist will coordinate with physicians, prepare patients for scans, and maintain a clean and safe scanning environment. The position requires adherence to strict department policies and procedures, including patient identification and exam verification.

Requirements

• HCPs currently registered in NYS will be required to have injection therapy certification stated on their license at time of submission.
• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and maintains Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• NYS licensure (must obtain PRIOR to starting position).
• Two (2) Years' Experience.
• Level 1 Trauma Center Experience.
• BLS (American Heart Association ONLY).
• Telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan; strictly adhering to department policy and procedure for patient safety.
• Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable.
• Insert IVs when necessary for the test.
• Positions patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling.
• Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC to include identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion.
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
