This is a part-time position in the CT Tech Weekend Program, working 24 hours per week on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 9 pm. There are no call requirements and rotating holidays. The role involves competently operating CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures, including imaging processing, body, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, contrast, orthopedic, and extremity scans. The technologist will obtain medical histories, ensure exam accuracy by comparing requisitions to physician orders, position patients, select scanning factors, and provide radiation protection. Responsibilities also include preparing and administering contrast media, assisting with scanning techniques, providing measurements and additional slices for interpretation, and post-processing images. Accurate labeling of images with patient information and scan details is required. The role involves maintaining records, entering patient and study information into the radiology information system, and documenting billing codes. Identifying and reporting equipment performance issues, performing quality assurance tests, and evaluating new products are also key duties. Patient positioning and transporting, which may involve lifting and pushing/pulling, are required, along with demonstrating age-appropriate care knowledge and skills.
