About The Position

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and procedure areas Performs procedure audits for quality improvement analysis Properly identifies and explains procedure to patient Follows policy/procedures related to lab work and lines (central, peripheral) Starts IV access according to standard procedure and injects contrast media under the direction of a physician Prepares/positions patient for CT procedures Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties as needed Ensures proper safety standards are met Assists in maintaining supply inventory Participates in on-going service and process improvement efforts Responsible for patient safety and comfort while in CT. This includes adhering to the ALARA guidelines, established dose parameters within the machine, and other comforting measures as well as proper communication throughout the exam to ensure the customers’ needs are met. Any issues will be relayed to the chief technologist directly. Communicates appropriately using good interpersonal skills Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Graduate from a formal Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association Certified by American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) Licensed in State of Connecticut as Radiological Technologist CPR certified Advanced CT Certification required PATIENT POPULATION SERVED: Adolescence (13-17 years) Neonate/Infant (Birth to 1 year) Pediatric/Early Childhood (1-12 years) Adult (18-64 years) Geriatric (65 plus years

Requirements

  • Graduate from a formal Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association
  • Certified by American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
  • Licensed in State of Connecticut as Radiological Technologist
  • CPR certified
  • Advanced CT Certification required
