A Texas Health CT Tech is responsible for explaining procedures to patient or guardian/family member if applicable prior to and during exam, imaging correct anatomical area of interest and pathology according to department protocols, and performing complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations. The position requires the technologist to perform both Diagnostic and CT Imaging to Emergency Room patients. Patient ages served varies from infancy to geriatric. The role involves processing and manipulating images, analyzing image quality, troubleshooting, making technique adjustments or repeating procedures as needed, and correctly sending and transferring images to PACS. The CT Tech must assess and recognize the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions, operate, care for and maintain equipment, prepare the room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies), administer contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines, and maintain equipment and room to sanitary standards between patients (injectors, table tops, floors). Texas Health Neighborhood Care and Wellness – Burleson is an Integrated Healthcare Center (IHC) providing convenient Outpatient and Emergency care services. The Imaging Department provides Ultrasound, Diagnostic, CT, MRI and Mammography to both Outpatients and Emergency Room patients of all ages.
