About The Position

Under the general direction and supervision of the Radiologist and the Director, Ancillary Operations, the CT Tech performs routine and special CT procedures within the standard procedures of the Imaging Services Department. The position has on-call responsibilities, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The CT Tech also performs general radiology duties and procedures as needed. The role requires completing patient exams in a timely manner, meeting department competency and image-quality standards, and supporting departmental operations such as restocking, housekeeping, patient safety, compliance improvements, and inspection readiness. ASAP exams must be completed within one hour or as directed by the radiologist, and stat exams must be reported within one hour.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Certification by the A.R.R.T.
Valid Iowa permit to practice.
One year of CT experience or cross-training at Broadlawns Medical Center.
Ability to consistently meet the department work schedule as designated.
Consistently demonstrate a team approach to care.
Demonstrate effective communication strategies.
Familiarity with general computer applications.

Responsibilities

Perform routine and special CT procedures within the standard procedures of the Imaging Services Department.
Perform general radiology duties and procedures as needed.
Fulfill on-call responsibilities, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Complete patient exams in a timely manner and assist others as needed.
Support departmental duties such as restocking, housekeeping, patient safety, compliance improvements, and inspection readiness.
Complete ASAP exams within one hour or as directed by the radiologist, and report stat exams within one hour.
Follow Medical Center policies and procedures and complete required annual hospital-wide training.
Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, service excellence, and effective communication.
Meet competency criteria for assigned tasks and complete work with less than a 5% image-quality error rate.
