About The Position

Join Midstate Radiology Associates (MRA) as a Part Time, 2nd Shift, CT Tech Aide at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. This position works under the direct supervision of a staff technologist and may assist in any modality within the radiology department. The role follows established policies and procedures set by the department, hospital, state, ACR, TJC, and OSHA. The schedule includes every other Saturday and Sunday, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM, with a holiday rotation. MRA offers competitive starting compensation between $20.00/hr and $25.30/hr plus competitive shift differentials.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
CPR certification.
Working knowledge applicable to department technology with specific references to anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles as applied to department technology.
Patients care standards and requirements.
Quality assurance principles and practices.
Customer service principles and practices.
OSHA principles and practices.
TJC standards of practice.
Organize and monitor patient flow to meet company productivity, quality, health and safety standards.
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff and co-workers.
Maintain the confidentiality of patient records.
Schedule, organize and complete work in accordance with required workloads.
Read, interpret and follow internal quality standards and government regulations.
Understand and follow specifications and instructions.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.
Capable of maintaining basic life support (CPR).

Nice To Haves

At least one year’s experience in a radiology setting.

Responsibilities

Practices radiation safety through appropriate use of radiation protection devices and adhering to radiation safety standards in order to protect patient and staff and to comply with regulatory agencies and requirements.
Cleans and disinfects equipment and area after each use. Maintains work area in an orderly manner. Reports any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to supervisor.
Meets the needs of patients with regard to the patient’s age, condition or other special requirements.
Accurately inputs data in the RIS by tracking actual procedure in order to capture all charges and other relevant information.
Possesses computer skills appropriate to meet departmental needs in preparation of reports and correspondence.
Works effectively as a team member within the department and with other units to provide quality service through communication, cooperation and collaboration.
