Under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, the Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures to assist clinicians in the diagnosis of injury and disease. This will include diagnostic imaging procedures involving, but not limited to general x-rays, CT, Dexa, and EKGs. The role involves patient preparation by explaining procedures, reviewing medical histories, and providing reassurance. It also includes performing imaging procedures by correctly positioning patients and calibrating machinery, adhering to safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure, preparing and administering radiocontrast agents, performing routine equipment maintenance and calibrations, and reviewing scans for technical quality before physician interpretation.
