About The Position

Lumexa Imaging, a large provider of outpatient medical imaging, is seeking ARRT registered CT Technologists and ARRT registered MRI Technologists for PRN roles in Columbia, SC. These positions offer schedule flexibility to provide coverage Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at three outpatient imaging centers. The CT Technologist performs a variety of standard and specialty Computed Tomography (CT) procedures to produce imaging studies using radiology technology to assist physicians with formulating a medical diagnosis while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. Specifically, conducts radiology exams and documents clinically appropriate results for interpretive physicians and records.

Requirements

Knowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocols

Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
Knowledge of current technical skills and procedural understanding to perform a full range of scanning procedures
Knowledge of and adherence to ALARA principles
Knowledge of basic level computer skills
Skill in organizing and prioritizing work and following assignments through to completion
Skill in written and verbal communication
Ability to operate and adjust scanning and ancillary equipment
Ability to take initiative to improve processes, think strategically, and identify trends
Ability to provide open, honest feedback to improve decision-making

Graduate of 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology
12 months previous experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality
ARRT certification in Computed Tomography
Applicable State Licensure, where required
IV credentialed if applicable

Responsibilities

Demonstrates the company’s values in daily activities
Performs complex tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues
Positions patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
Screens patients for CT safety prior to procedure performance
Starts I.V.’s, administers contrast media as directed and per protocol
Evaluates CT scans for technical quality, collates processed images and sequence of exposure and labels appropriately
Loads and operates power injectors for contrast media administration
Applies the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice
Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces the safety measures in the Environment of Care
Maintains accurate patient records.
Assists in other modalities as requested and as allowed by licensure/certification
