About The Position

The CT Technologist provides imaging services throughout Radiation Oncology Services defined as computed tomography imaging at our Atrium Medical Center clinic location.

Requirements

Requires a High school diploma
Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
Certification in CT
Requires 3- 5 years previous CT experience
CPR certification required
Excellent oral and written communication
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience working with a Practice Management system.
Attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position to provide excellent customer service to both our internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic CT procedures on patients utilizing ionizing radiation producing equipment.
Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered.
Verifies the patients' demographic data is correct in all applicable systems.
Checks and prepares patients prior to CT study.
Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Performs VNA punctures as necessary and maintains competencies.
Maintains all aspects of the CT area to ensure proper quality assurance results.
Knowledgeable in acquiring, archiving, transmitting, and printing images - when applicable.
Observes potential equipment dysfunctions and reports problems to appropriate individuals.
Maintains available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.
Will have responsibilities for supplies, equipment operations and related duties.
May assist with scheduling of patients as needed.
Works under the scope of practice and in accordance to certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of technical equipment.
