About The Position

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a CT/Diagnostic Tech Advanced to join their team. This full-time position involves producing images of the human body for medical diagnostic purposes, specifically performing diagnostic and Computed Tomography (CT) imaging examinations. The role is based at Methodist Women's Hospital and operates on a schedule of 3 x 12-hour shifts with one weekend of call every four weeks, along with rotating holidays and call duties. The position is eligible for full-time benefits. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved American Medical Association School of Radiologic Technology required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Radiography (R) required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Computed Tomography (CT) required.
  • Current Medical Radiographer license for work state required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients and family members as well as hospital personnel and coworkers.
  • Must have analytical skills necessary to compute exposure factors and the ability to perform numerous tasks at once.
  • Adept at working with pediatric patients.
  • Strong knowledge in cross sectional anatomy for CT exams and abnormalities of exams is essential.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience in CT or a graduate from an approved CT/MRI program preferred.
  • Technologists who have completed clinical training and are Computed Tomography (CT) Board eligible will be considered with the understanding that the registry will be passed within 12 months of hire.
  • New technologists who require clinical training to become Computed Tomography (CT) board eligible will be considered with the understanding that the advanced board certification is required within 12 months at the completion of clinical training.

Responsibilities

  • Provides care for the optimal patient experience, actively looking for ways to help people to optimize the customer experience.

  • Performs diagnostic and Computed Tomography (CT) imaging examinations.
  • Ensures optimal visualization of anatomy by directing radiographic equipment.
  • Assists surgeon/radiologist with surgery/special procedures.
  • Assists staff in room with procedure set-up.
  • Responds to pages in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes RIS/Cerner/Navicare/PACS/Outlook/Intranet/Powerscribe systems.
  • Ensures Powerchart is available to the performing physician prior to the start of a case.
  • Possesses knowledge of order entry and the ability to order correct exams and proper indications.
  • Matches digital images to Radiology Information System (RIS) orders for viewing in Picture Archival Communication System (PACS).
  • Starts and completes exams performed, consistently using Exam Management.
  • Documents Medications and Allergies.
  • Consistently uses Powerscribe.
  • Assists in maintaining appropriate par levels of supplies and communicates to appropriate ordering personnel.
  • Accurately verifies patient identification.
  • Properly identifies anatomical orientation on all films.
  • Cleans and disinfects equipment at the conclusion of each case.
  • Maintains a positive and respectful relationship with team members.
  • Understands and supports the direction and workflow of the department.
  • Is available at the start of the scheduled shift and appropriately manages completion of the shift.
  • Relieves coworkers during cases as needed.
  • Performs job duties as assigned.
  • Maintains communication/coordination with pertinent areas.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage department workflow as needed.
  • Maintains awareness of ongoing procedures and assists coworkers in unassigned areas when available.
  • Willingly seeks opportunities to provide patient care or assist others as needed.
  • Provides and monitors "on the job training" per Methodist College Standards.
  • Maintains a professional and courteous relationship with students and instructors.
  • Effectively demonstrates MHS and Imaging Behavior Standards.
  • Shows knowledge by following the department Policy & Procedures Manual.
