MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT: As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USSTRATCOM. USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environment. You will play a crucial role in providing support in the following areas: Monitor CSSP sensors and investigate abnormal findings. Perform threat intelligence analysis and generates reports. Triage incidents and support incident response. Monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems and procedures to safeguard internal information systems, network, databases, and Web-based security. Help develop mission-critical technical documents. Analyze and assess impacts on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information. Conduct regular audits to ensure that systems are being operated securely, and information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans. Adhere to security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Top Secret with SCI eligibility
  • ITIL 4 Foundation certified within 9 months of start
  • CySA+ or CEH or GCIA or GCFA or Security+ or other DoW 8140 certifications aligned with work role 511 - Cyber Defense Analyst
  • Ability to monitor CSSP sensors, SIEM dashboards, logs, IDS/IPS alerts, and detect abnormal patterns
  • Understanding of threat actor TTPs, threat feeds, indicators of compromise, and how to translate data into actionable reports
  • Skills in triage, containment, investigation, and escalation procedures. Familiarity with frameworks like NIST.
  • Knowledge of system hardening, vulnerabilities, patch management, access controls, encryption, and secure configurations.
  • Ability to conduct internal security audits, review compliance with security plans, identify gaps, and recommend remediation.
  • Experience developing and maintaining playbooks, SOPs, incident reports, and technical assessments
  • Understanding of firewalls, routing, operating systems, authentication methods, logs, and cloud/on‑prem environments
  • Capacity to quickly interpret incomplete information, prioritize events, and make sound decisions during incidents.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify deviations, correlate events, and determine relevance or risk.
  • Strong adherence to policies, security plans, and repeatable procedures for monitoring and incident handling.
  • Clear written and verbal communication for incident summaries, reports, and technical documentation.
