About The Position

Community Services for Children is seeking a proactive, engaging, knowledgeable, and customer-focused professional for a new opportunity as the CSC Allentown Works Child Care Support Coach. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance, education, and support to early learning programs in individual and small group learning formats to engage full participation in Keystone Stars Quality Rating system, and to improve the quality of care. The Support Coach works in collaboration with the Stars Quality Coach to assist programs to move to higher quality levels using effective coaching practices, and coordinates with the CSC Allentown Works Specialist to ensure a full-service, integrated approach to improving both access to and quality of early learning for children. All work is completed in accordance with regulations, performance standards, and the mission, vision, and values of CSC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in early education or related field.
  • Three years of experience in high quality early learning programs.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Customer focus with special understanding of both family and provider needs, community resources, and referrals.
  • Public speaking/presentation skills and the ability to engage individuals and groups.
  • Proven analytical, planning, and technological skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and full-time use of vehicle, or reliable transportation to community locations as required.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts outreach to promote the values and benefits of full participation in Keystone Stars, Child Care Works, and Allentown Works programs, soliciting involvement.
  • Recognizes the unique strengths of each early childhood entity, and builds a positive, collaborative relationship supporting their efforts to achieve the highest quality ratings.
  • Works collaboratively with the Allentown Works Specialist and Stars Quality Coaches to integrate programming and ensure efficient, comprehensive communication with families and providers.
  • Plans and facilitates move-up cohorts utilizing best practices, which encourage and support programs in moving toward their goals.
  • Participates in CSC’s Rapid Response Team program, providing supports to providers as needed.
  • Assists Allentown Works partners in collecting data/feedback directly from child care providers.
  • Offers referrals to programs that will support business sustainability, advancement, and improved services.
  • Assists the Quality Coaches in collecting and developing resources to assist programs to meet the STAR standards, including Spanish-language resources.
  • Utilizes PELICAN and Registry databases, as well as program-established reporting systems to document all activity.
  • Collects and analyzes data for grant reports and activities.
