About The Position

Certified CS/SPD Technicians clean and maintain surgical and hospital tools, helping ensure caregivers have safe and sterile equipment for patient care. The role supports decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping, sterilization, case cart preparation and dispatch, and supply recordkeeping and inventory control. The position is full-time on the night shift, scheduled from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Sterile Processing certification, such as CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER.
Proficiency using computerized instrument tracking systems.
Military experience in a relevant role, such as Hospital Corpsman (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F), or similar, will be considered.

Nice To Haves

Basic computer skills.
Completion of a recognized training program with certification in central service/sterile processing.
Two to five years of experience in central service/sterile processing areas.

Responsibilities

Perform safe and efficient decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping, and sterilization of reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment.
Perform case pull functions.
Determine appropriate case carts for specialty procedures.
Build case carts in accordance with procedures.
Dispatch case carts to ensure availability for surgical and clinical procedures.
Perform recordkeeping, ordering, stocking, and inventory control.
Clean and maintain surgical and hospital tools.
