About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Crystal Fabrication Technician to join our team. This role involves operating and maintaining specialized fabrication equipment, adhering to technical drawings and procedures, and ensuring the safe handling of materials. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fabrication and machine shop practices, particularly within the optics or semiconductor manufacturing industries. You will be responsible for recording production data, performing routine maintenance, and collaborating with engineers to improve processes. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus additional training in fabrication/machining practices
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant fabrication and machine shop experience in an optics or semiconductor manufacturing support environment
  • Demonstrated ability to operate, maintain and repair fabrication process tools (Multi Wire-Saws, Cylindrical Grinders, X-Ray Orientation Equipment, Cleaning Benches, etc.) in a semiconductor or optical materials environment
  • Familiarity with general machine tools (mill, lathe, etc.) in a model shop environment
  • Ability to read CAD drawings in the machining/fabrication of equipment parts, tools, semiconductor ingots and substrates
  • Must be comfortable carefully handling and loading/unloading high-value and heavy crystals
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain shop operations independently
  • Ability to recommend and implement improvements
  • Experience with networked PC based computer system (MS Office, spreadsheets, access, graphics, Email, MRP systems, and accounting software)

Nice To Haves

  • An associate’s degree in field of engineering technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain fabrication equipment including x-ray diffraction orientation grinding and inspection tooling
  • Follow technical drawings, specifications, and production procedures
  • Use precision measuring tools and testing equipment
  • Record production data, test results, and material usage
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot process issues
  • Handle chemicals and materials safely according to workplace procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and contamination-controlled work area
  • Follow safety, quality-control, and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to improve processes
