About The Position

Acclaim Technical Services (ATS) is seeking a Cryptologic Computer Scientist with TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance to join their Defense and Homeland Security Division in Annapolis Junction, MD. ATS, founded in 2000, is an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company known for supporting U.S. Federal agencies and being a top workplace. The role involves designing, developing, delivering, and operating solutions for complex cryptologic computer science problems. This includes work in areas such as forensics, attack attribution, network protection, and knowledge discovery. The position requires applying core computer science principles like operating systems, compiler theory, database theory, algorithm analysis, computer architecture, discrete math, programming language theory, and data structures to create state-of-the-art solutions. This specific role will blend computer science and cyber threat analysis, utilizing Python, Spark, and large-scale data experience. A strong background in network and protocol analysis, along with familiarity with customer tools, dataflow, anomaly detection, intrusion analysis, and data processing, is beneficial.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree plus 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Associates degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Degree must be in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Degree must include at least one programming course and at least 4 upper-level math classes (Calculus and above).
  • Relevant experience must be in a computer science area (i.e. theoretical or applied), simulation/model development, designing/developing/using/evaluating mathematic models, methods, and/or techniques (e.g. algorithm or development) computation science, algorithm analysis and design, reverse engineering, and/or designing/developing computer and information systems, including engineering hardware and/or software.
  • Strong Python and Spark skills.
  • Strong Network and Protocol Analysis background.
  • TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with customer tools, dataflow, anomaly detection, intrusion analysis, and data processing is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deliver, and operate solutions to hard cryptologic computer science problems within a scientific framework.
  • Create solutions derived from forensics and attack attribution.
  • Facilitate protection of critical networks and active systems.
  • Conduct knowledge discovery of passive and active systems, or other cryptologic computer science mission support.
  • Apply requisite computer science skills (operating systems, compiler theory, database theory, algorithm analysis, computer architecture, discrete math, programming language theory, and data structures) to each problem to provide state-of-the-art techniques, tools, and approaches.
  • Act as a hybrid computer scientist/cyber threat analyst.
  • Utilize Python, Spark, and experience working with large scale data.
  • Perform strong network and protocol analysis.
  • Leverage familiarity with customer tools, dataflow, anomaly detection, intrusion analysis, and data processing.
