We are seeking a Cryptographic Systems Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced cryptographic systems within a secure environment. This role focuses on working with General Dynamics crypto devices, ensuring secure communications, and providing technical expertise across complex encryption and key management systems. The ideal candidate has deep experience with cryptographic technologies, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support and train stakeholders in a collaborative, mission-focused environment.

Requirements

  • Must be fully cleared with a recent polygraph
  • Must be willing and able to work fully on-site
  • Strong experience working with General Dynamics cryptographic devices and related technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of cryptographic principles, protocols, and secure communications systems
  • Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex cryptographic environments
  • Experience with key management, encryption/decryption processes, and security standards
  • Experience using GEM crypto manager or similar tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in secure technical environments
  • Experience providing technical guidance, documentation, and hands-on training to users
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
  • Experience working with enterprise or classified network environments, including legacy and modern systems
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders and priorities

Responsibilities

  • Configure, operate, and maintain General Dynamics cryptographic devices (E-100, FLEX, Micro, Nano, TL-10G, TL-1G, and next-generation systems)
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot complex cryptographic systems and secure communications solutions
  • Apply cryptographic principles, protocols, and standards related to encryption, decryption, and key management
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to cryptographic devices and systems
  • Utilize GEM crypto manager software to manage and support cryptographic operations
  • Provide technical guidance, support, and training to stakeholders and end users
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including training materials and procedures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and program stakeholders, to support mission objectives
  • Support integration of cryptographic systems within broader network and system architectures
