About The Position

Fisher Industries is seeking an experienced Crusher Laborer/Wash Plant Operator for their Presidio, TX location. This role involves general laborer duties, service work on equipment, grounds keeping, and assisting with the operation of crushers and wash plants. A background in operating heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, and excavators is helpful. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

At least 18 years old
Valid Driver's License
Reliable transportation to get to and from work
Acceptable MVR in accordance with Fisher's Company Vehicle Program policy
S.H.A. certificate part 46 or 48 or willingness to obtain certification
Basic knowledge of welding and using a cutting torch
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test
Ability to complete work tasks under various adverse weather conditions including heat above 100 degrees, cold, rain, and snow
Ability to operate equipment in adverse weather conditions and on steep and rough terrains
Ability to repeatedly walk up and down steep and rough terrain carrying construction materials
Punctuality
Must be a team player who is willing and able to learn
Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
Travel will be required

Background in operating other heavy equipment, loaders, dozer and excavators helpful.

Responsibilities

Assists crew leader/operator with operation of crusher, remaining aware of surroundings and reporting any problems.
Works cautiously to promote a safe environment at crusher sites.
Remains alert for hazards and observes MSHA and operating rules and regulations.
Complies with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Assists with setup and tear down of plants.
Performs general maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services equipment and plant as required.
Greases machinery weekly.
Cleans debris from conveyor belt and around machinery.
Uses a shovel to move material.
Operates equipment and loads when necessary.
Performs pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startup.
Performs general labor duties including service work on equipment and grounds keeping.
Performs other duties as assigned and assists other craft workers.
