This position has a base compensation range of $24.04 to $29.80. Salary determination considers your skills, experience, job location, internal pay equity and job architecture. Hellmann Worldwide Logistics regularly reviews our pay ranges against industry standards to ensure fairness. The Cruise Logistics Agent will be the primary customer contact for all operational and day-to-day inquiries. Coordinates Air and Sea Freight shipments for the assigned Cruise Logistics accounts ensuring that service commitments are achieved and maintained in accordance with client requirements and company objectives. Serves as a liaison with customers, vendors, and government agencies.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One to three years of previous experience in freight forwarding industry required, preferably in Cruise Logistics
  • Organizational skills
  • Time management and prioritization

  • Adaptable / flexible to high-pressured environment
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Email, and Internet
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as freight rates, discounts, and other percentages

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of any industry related course is an asset
  • Proficient in world geography, shipping documentation, and Incoterms preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Air and Seafreight operations are compliant to internal HWL policies and external governmente regulations
  • Coordinates air and seafreight operation from A to Z
  • Completes customs documentation for cargo being imported and exported from a Foreign Trade Zone
  • Checks clients‘ credit status prior to arranging transportation
  • Assists and maintains service relations with clients and other Hellmann offices
  • Provides quality customer service to vendors, shippers and agents in order to facilitiate the required objectives and provide customers with daily updates
  • Works with other department personnel including sales as needed
  • Professionally supports customer escalations in conjunction with product manager
  • Keeps clients informed and maintains knowledge of market trends and changes in service options
  • Ensures clients, Hellmanns‘ partners or other parties are kept fully informed of transport arrangements and status
  • Receives rate requests
  • Prepares and issues rate quotations
  • Processes reports utilizing internet and basic software programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned
