About The Position

This role supports Crude Trading and Supply operations by monitoring, verifying, and reconciling inventory transactions within an ERP environment (SAP S4). The analyst works closely with offshore managed service resources, schedulers, and traders to accurately reflect positions and trades in accounting records, and collaborates with Trade Support to resolve discrepancies and improve scheduling processes. The organization is currently using SAP S4 but may transition back to RightAngle in the coming years. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with an accounting background who is analytical with data, capable of creating macros in Excel, and open to exploring AI agents for automation.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in a volumetric accounting or inventory analyst role
  • Crude or NGL experience
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Bachelor's Degree required

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and verify the accuracy of all transactions related to Crude Trading and Supply movements in accordance with accounting standards in our ERP system (SAP S4).
  • Run various reports in our ERP System (SAP S4) to monitor inventory Builds/Draws and analyze data on a routine basis throughout the month.
  • Work closely with our offshore managed service resources, schedulers, and traders to properly reflect positions and trades in our accounting records.
  • Review complicated Discrepancy Error Workbench (DEW) requests from Crude Accounting and Volumetric Accounting that are escalated by the Scheduler and assist with identifying the proper resolution.
  • Serve as a backup reviewer for Discrepancy Error Workbench (DEW) when a scheduler is out of the office.
  • In collaboration with the Trade Support group, assist schedulers with troubleshooting when nominations do not result in the intended inventory effect in SAP and provide resolution.
  • Prepare reports and summaries of reconciliation findings for management review.
  • Track and communicate trends or recurring issues that may impact inventory accuracy and assist in the development of solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in scheduling tactics.
  • Assist with direct resolution of discrepancies during high-intensity periods (such as month-end close).
