About The Position

Envision Unlimited is seeking a CRSS Success Program Instructor to join their interdisciplinary team. This role involves providing classroom instruction, community support, benefits counseling, internships, and test preparation to individuals pursuing certification as Certified Recovery Support Specialists (CRSS). The instructor will plan and implement curriculum-approved groups focusing on psycho-education, discussion, and interactive activities to develop students' skills for various occupational options as a CRSS. Responsibilities include implementing individual educational plans to reduce barriers to program completion, addressing areas such as housing, food security, health, and benefits counseling. The role also requires documentation according to agency, CQL, Accreditation, and funder requirements, and meeting productivity targets. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, or related Human Services field strongly preferred
  • Must be Certified by ICB which requires a CRSS, CRPS or CADC certification (or in application process for certification) OR requesting exception by documenting rationale
  • No less than two years of work experience in recovery support, substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance use) services
  • Experience in teaching the level of students assigned
  • Experience in clinical supervision
  • Licensed, registered, or credentialed in their profession
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Possess a valid driver's license or state ID
  • Be approved to drive agency vehicles through agency insurance
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate and document on curriculum-based instruction to people with lived experience with mental illness and/or substance use issues pursuing certification as a recovery support service professional.
  • Must be able to set and maintain professional boundaries
  • Be able to adapt to changing needs of the program and students.
  • Must have the ability to problem solve and provide support interventions as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate classes in key areas as required for students in order to complete their certification.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to students as needed for successful completion of the program.
  • Document all incidents and mitigation strategies in accordance with agency procedures and practices.
  • Demonstrate sound clinical and ethical practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality according to the Illinois Mental Health code and Confidentiality Act.
  • Ensure all classroom activities provided are in accordance with accredited curriculum.
  • Utilize a variety of resources to prepare and submit curriculums for group sessions in accordance with department expectations and timelines.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe group environment for all students.
  • Prepare hands on experiences to guide students in developing career goals.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability with changes to program schedule as the need arises.
  • Perform duties and functions in accordance with all agency policies.
  • Will maintain a professional attitude in conduct and in interactions with other staff, clients and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate conduct and behaviors consistent with agency mission and policies.
  • Attend individual coaching with Director of CRSS program to review and report on progress, productivity, and address concerns.
  • Responsible for participating in, and completing, required in-service and community training seminars and training at the discretion of the Director.
  • Other duties as assigned.
