About The Position

This position involves assisting the Farm Manager in the care of turkeys from the age of move to market. Responsibilities include general repairs and maintenance, daily and weekly preparation and scheduling, and the implementation and execution of daily chores. The individual will be responsible for flock performance and will assist in the supervision of employees sent to the farm. This position also requires travel to various farms pending labor needs.

Requirements

Cannot own or raise any type of fowl (i.e. turkeys, chickens, geese, pheasants, parakeets, or hogs etc.)
Able to meet all sanitation requirements
Basic mechanical skills
Able to work scheduled weekends or holidays
Possess a valid driver's license with good driving record
Able to twist, stoop, bend, squat, lift, carry and reach while handling turkeys, feed, litter, equipment in a weight range of < 10 pounds to > 50 pounds from occasionally to a frequent basis
Able to work in a dusty environment with ammonia present in all weather conditions while using approved respirators

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous turkey experience and/or farm background (2 years)
Possess good communications and supervisory skills based on experience or training
