Fields Corner Crossroads Collaborative (FCCC) is seeking young individuals to join a new youth council aimed at shaping the future of Fields Corner. This council will foster individual leadership, strengthen the community, improve youth communication with local leaders, provide insights into youth concerns, and train peers. The Crossroads Youth Council will consist of 8-12 members aged 15-18, guided by the FCCC youth coordinator and project director. Peer leaders, aged 19-25, will collaborate with the youth coordinator and two other peer leaders to mentor and direct the youth members. The FCCC is funded by a Children’s Health Equity (CHEq) grant and collaborates with various organizations including MassCOSH, DotHouse Health, Asian American Resource Workers, VietAID, New England United for Justice, Louis Brown Peace Institute, Boys and Girls Club of Dorchester, and All Dorchester Sports and Leadership. This role requires 25 hours per week during the summer and 10 hours per week during the school year, funded through Successlink. DotHouse Health, the fiscal sponsor, is dedicated to being an essential resource for community health and well-being, providing accessible healthcare and services, and driving positive change in the community's health, economic, and social status.
