About The Position

Redwood City School District (RCSD) is seeking a dedicated Crossing Guard to join our team. Requirements

Knowledge of school procedures, rules, and regulations.
Ability to work harmoniously with administrators, teachers, students, and other employees.
Ability to exercise good judgment in traffic control to promote student safety.
Ability to learn and enforce traffic laws with respect to pedestrian right-of-way.
Ability to maintain physical and mental attributes sufficient for assigned duties.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Adequate vision and hearing for making decisions for student safety.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Constant standing, walking, reaching at/above/below shoulders, neck flexion (up and down) and rotation.
Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting at the waist.
Ability to constantly lift up to 5 pounds and carry up to 20 feet.
Visual acuity and hearing to observe students, vehicles, situations, and movement.
Speaking skills to communicate with students.
Finger dexterity to write and use a whistle.
Grasping ability to handle a stop sign.
Writing and reading skills to complete reports.
Ability to hear, speak, write, and read in English to exchange information.
