About The Position

The Cross Trained Assistant holds a safety sensitive position and is a competent paraprofessional which assists the registered nurses and/or anesthesia provider by assuming responsibility and accountability for direct and indirect patient care. He/she may assist with activities, comfort measures and maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of an RN and/or anesthesia provider. Supports the nursing and medical staff in an effort to provide optimum patient outcomes.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required upon hire (classes offered at hospital after hire date if needed).
• Cognitive, technical and interpersonal skills required to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of a RN.
• Cooperation and strong “team” focus required.
• Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in current caregiver practices, which are unit/age specific.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Anesthesia technician experience preferred.
