About The Position

This role supports both battery remanufacturing operations and field service needs. Primary responsibilities include repairing and rebuilding battery packs, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing root cause analysis, and documenting work for traceability. The technician collaborates with engineering and production teams to develop repair procedures and improve processes while maintaining safety and 5S standards. As needed, the role also supports field service by performing on-site diagnostics, repairs, and customer training.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ Years in a Remanufacturing Technician or Service technician role.

Nice To Haves

  • associate’s degree or higher in a technical field preferred.
  • Preference for experience in EV or HV battery industry

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the remanufacturing or repair of all battery packs requiring service due to field returns or process defects under the supervision of the Battery Staff Engineer.
  • Utilize torque tools, electrical test equipment, and functional test equipment to rebuild and repair any defects generated in-process or from returned packs.
  • Actively participate in identifying failure sources from returned packs and in-factory defects.
  • Maintain thorough, detailed documentation of remanufacturing work using Excel and the Manufacturing Execution System for traceability and aiding cross-functional teams in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production departments to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Write and develop rework/repair instructions and procedures with support from Design Engineering.
  • Adhere to daily 5S standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Serve as a cross-functional member of the Field Service team.
  • Provide comprehensive support for the deployment of commercial vehicle batteries across various customer locations.
  • Conduct hands-on repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-voltage batteries using a range of tools from advanced computer diagnostics to basic mechanical tools at customer locations.
  • Maintain excellent communication with customers and property staff, providing hands-on training to customer operators and technicians.
  • Deploy to customer locations as needed.
