About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Cross-Domain Network & Data Systems Engineer to support the Mach-CORE program at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane, Indiana. The role designs, implements, and sustains secure network architectures that enable controlled transfer of digital engineering data across multiple security classification boundaries. It supports advanced weapons development, particularly data exchange between external programs—including the Multi-Service Advanced Capability Hypersonic Accelerator (MACH-XL)—and internal analysis systems. This is a high-visibility, on-site role at the intersection of network engineering, cybersecurity, and hypersonic weapons development. The engineer will architect, deploy, and maintain secure network infrastructure for multi-level security and cross-domain data movement; design data-transfer pathways; and provide hands-on routing, switching, firewall, and secure architecture expertise. The role also implements and manages DoD-accredited cross-domain solutions, conducts Risk Management Framework (RMF)-aligned security engineering, and supports accreditation and technical reviews. The engineer will lead integration of MACH-XL data pipelines into internal analysis systems, troubleshoot network security and data-flow issues, and collaborate with cyber, systems, and mission engineering teams to ensure data integrity and security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, network engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field, and 9 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or supporting DoD or Intelligence Community networks operating at multiple classification levels.
  • Working knowledge of cross-domain technologies, including radiological filters, data guards, and transfer appliances.
  • Familiarity with DoD RMF processes, STIGs, and system authorization requirements.
  • Strong foundation in routing, switching, firewall management, and secure network architecture design.
  • Ability to work on-site within classified workspaces at NSWC Crane, Indiana.
  • Interim Secret clearance required to start, with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance; SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience integrating data workflows or engineering models for advanced weapons systems or digital engineering programs.
  • Hands-on experience with MACH-XL, hypersonics, or modeling and simulation data environments.
  • Active certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with automated data pipelines, structured data transfer protocols, and zero-trust architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, and maintain secure network infrastructures supporting multi-level security and cross-domain data movement.
  • Design and optimize data-transfer pathways for complex datasets, digital engineering models, and analytical outputs between classified and unclassified environments.
  • Provide hands-on expertise in routing, switching, firewall management, and secure network architecture design.
  • Implement and manage DoD-accredited cross-domain solutions, ensuring compliance with policy and operational requirements.
  • Conduct RMF-aligned security engineering, including documentation, system hardening, control implementation, and continuous monitoring.
  • Support accreditation activities, technical reviews, and stakeholder engagements across DoD organizations.
  • Lead integration of MACH-XL data pipelines into internal analysis tools and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network security, configuration, and data-flow issues within high-assurance architectures.
  • Collaborate with SAIC cyber, systems, and mission engineering teams to ensure end-to-end data integrity and security.
