About The Position

Join LKQ Corporation as a Cross Dock CDL Class A Driver. This role involves driving and safely operating a truck with a gross vehicle weight capacity greater than 10,001 lbs, primarily for transferring products between locations, wholesalers, and drop boxes, often crossing state/province lines. Responsibilities include loading/unloading trucks, verifying products, obtaining signatures, and managing paperwork. The position requires a night-time schedule. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3+ years of related experience required
  • Still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills
  • 2+ years of commercial driving and warehouse related experience
  • Accredited commercial driving school certificate
  • CDL Class A license (EZ Driver license for Canada)
  • Must be fully DOT qualified
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with the proper endorsement for driving a commercial vehicle of at least 10,001 lbs. or greater
  • Have an acceptable driving record
  • Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements
  • Knowledgeable of DOT regulations
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must comply with state and local mandated requirements as well as Department of Transportation (“DOT”) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (“FMCSA”) regulations
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc.
  • Basic messages communicated orally
  • May write brief messages and keep simple records
  • Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive, and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures
  • Decisions generally affect one's own job or assigned functional area
  • Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager
  • Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager

Responsibilities

  • Drive truck to transfer product between locations, wholesaler and drop box locations in outlying markets.
  • Pickup truck at the warehouse/cross dock and may load truck according to safety standards and to ensure product integrity.
  • Verify the condition of the truck, the manifest and other paperwork associated with the delivery.
  • Drive to the destination and may physically unload the truck, verify parts unloaded, obtain signature of receiving location confirming the accuracy of parts shown on the order and those received and sign off on the integrity of what was loaded at the location.
  • Make proper notations on the manifest or provide credit memos on parts being returned to the locations, wholesalers and drop boxes.
  • Pick up stock purchase orders or buy out purchase orders from vendors on vendor “fill in” purchase orders and bring parts back to the location.
  • Complete check-in process when returning to the location to verify parts and paperwork.
  • Turn in paperwork after check-in.
  • Comply with established company policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and support the continual improvement of LKQ’s quality improvement program.
  • Pass random drug testing as required.
  • Successful completion of annual training as assigned.
  • Operate in compliance with applicable rules and regulations set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
