About The Position

The Crop Input Finance Director is responsible for growing and leading a sustainable crop input finance book of business by actively engaging with producers, Ag Partners sales staff, and customers to materially increase program participation and overall value to the Cooperative. This position will manage the Cooperative’s crop input finance programs, develop practical financing solutions that support producer needs and Ag Partners product sales, and ensure business activity is handled with appropriate organization, accuracy, and follow-through.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, possess computer technology skills and 10-key calculator operation.
  • Excellent computer operation skills and knowledge of key operational computer programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and weights.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations.
  • Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation and labeling.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in production agriculture, agricultural finance, agronomy sales, customer relationship management, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of crop input programs, production agriculture, financing options, grain marketing, farm cash-flow considerations, and customer business needs is preferred.
  • Outgoing, proactive, relationship-driven, and comfortable initiating conversations with producers, sales staff, lenders, and internal teams.
  • Willing to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes or other job-related education requirements or opportunities.
  • Additional licenses, certifications, or training may be required based on program offerings, lender requirements, or Cooperative needs.

Responsibilities

  • Grow the crop input finance loan portfolio through proactive producer outreach, customer relationship development, and coordinated efforts with Ag Partners sales staff.
  • Develop, manage, and improve crop input finance programs that support producer needs, help customers manage cash flow, and drive sales of Ag Partners products and services.
  • Partner with Ag Partners sales staff and credit department to identify prospects, support customer conversations, provide program guidance, and move opportunities through application and closing.
  • Manage relationships with lenders, financing partners, and internal stakeholders to keep programs competitive, practical, and aligned with business needs.
  • Monitor program participation, loan volume, customer adoption, repayment status, and portfolio performance to identify growth opportunities and manage risk.
  • Maintain organized systems for applications, approvals, renewals, lender requirements, customer commitments, deadlines, and follow-up items.
  • Be able to utilize the ERP and CRM systems to pay bills, look up past due amounts, answer customer questions on expenditures, etc.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on growth, sales activity, portfolio performance, risk concerns, and recommended program improvements.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of production agriculture, crop input needs, financing options, grain marketing, farm cash flow, and customer business needs.
  • Support training, coordination, and goal alignment for employees or team members involved in crop input finance activity.
  • Light managerial oversight and goal alignment of other employees or team members supporting crop input finance activity.
