About The Position

McLeod Health is seeking a CRNA to join their team at the new McLeod Carolina Forest Hospital in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This is a hospital-employed opportunity with an excellent compensation package, retirement plans and benefits, 30 days of PTO, and 5 CEU days. The schedule consists of 8-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) with shared call responsibilities, including one weekend per month and one weekday call per week, with the potential for a second weekday. Practice in a collaborative care model alongside an on-site anesthesiologist with a diverse case mix that includes general surgery, robotics, orthopedics, ENT, pediatrics, OB/GYN, and urology. The facility includes 4 operating rooms and is part of McLeod Health's growing coastal region. Requirements

  • Must be a graduate from an approved school of Nursing & hold (or willing to obtain) a current SC license as a registered nurse
  • Must be a graduate from an approved Nurse Anesthesia program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation
  • Must have successfully completed the certification examination administered by the AANA Council on Certification
  • Must comply with the criteria for biennial recertification as defined by the AANA Council of Recertification
  • Hold current SC official recognition as a CRNA

Nice To Haves

  • Ideal candidates will have experience in general surgery, robotics, orthopedics, OB/GYN, urology, and pediatric anesthesia, including recent spinal anesthesia experience.
  • Candidates must be able to perform all areas of anesthesia and be willing to work collaboratively with anesthesiologists in a medical direction model.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
  • Administers general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled, urgent, and emergent surgical procedures.
  • Visits patients prior to surgery to obtain pre-operative patient history and complete assessments.
  • Explains anesthesia plans, the anesthesia care team approach, and provides post-operative patient follow-up.
  • Maximizes quality patient care through current anesthesia techniques and the appropriate use of medications, equipment, and technology.
  • Participates in shared call coverage to provide continuous anesthesia-related services.
  • Provides instruction and education for student nurse anesthetists and other learners as appropriate.
  • Effectively manages patient care following surgical procedures to ensure safe transition to the post-anesthesia care unit or other designated care settings.
  • Responds to airway management and life-support needs throughout the Medical Center as required.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and teamwork within the Anesthesia Department.
