Assembles all anesthesia equipment, drugs, and agents for assigned cases.
Inserts appropriate monitoring lines, i.e. arterial and central venous pressure lines under the direction and supervision of staff anesthesiologists.
Administers anesthesia for surgical and obstetrical procedures and monitors vital signs.
Maintains proper level of anesthesia, replaces blood, fluids and electrolytes as indicated under direction of anesthesiologist, and notifies surgeon and attending of any changes in the patients’ condition.
Accompanies patient to Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and remains until patient's immediate condition warrants leaving him/her with (PACU) personnel.
