About The Position

The Anesthesia Group of Albany is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a permanent position. CRNAs practice under the supervision of an anesthesiologist and provide comprehensive anesthesia-related care. This role involves performing pre-anesthetic assessments, developing and implementing anesthesia plans, administering various anesthetic techniques, monitoring patient status, managing airways, and providing post-anesthesia care. CRNAs also respond to emergencies and initiate pain relief therapies.

Requirements

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
  • Practice under the supervision of an anesthesiologist
  • Licensed according to state regulations
  • Certified according to national standards
  • Expertise in providing anesthesia-related care

Responsibilities

  • Performing and documenting a pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluation of patient, including diagnostic studies; selecting, obtaining, ordering or administering pre-anesthetic medications or fluids, and obtaining informed consent for anesthesia.
  • Developing and implementing an anesthesia plan.
  • Selecting and initiating the planned anesthetic technique, which may include general, regional, and local anesthesia, and intravenous sedation.
  • Selecting, obtaining, or administering the anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, fluids, and blood products necessary to manage the anesthetic, and to correct abnormal responses to the anesthesia or surgery.
  • Selecting, applying, or inserting appropriate non-invasive monitoring modalities for collecting and interpreting patient physiologic data.
  • Under anesthesia, managing a patient’s airway and pulmonary status using endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacologic support, respiratory therapy, or extubation.
  • Managing emergence and recovery from anesthesia by selecting, obtaining, ordering, or administering medications, fluids, or ventilator support in order to maintain homeostasis, to provide relief from pain and anesthesia side effects, or to prevent or manage complications.
  • Providing post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care to anesthesia side effects or complications.
  • Initiating or modifying pain relief therapy through the use of drugs, regional anesthetic techniques, or other accepted pain relief modalities.
  • Responding to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering emergency fluids or drugs, using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.
