About The Position

Responsible for the administration of anesthesia. The CRNA administers anesthesia or sedation to patients undergoing a variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures. This role develops and conducts pre-anesthetic plans and appropriately writes orders before, during, and after procedures. The CRNA collaborates with providers caring for patients and communicates with patients, family members, and other members of the health care team.

The role evaluates and orders diagnostic tests as needed, monitors patients—including through hemodynamic monitoring—and uses current techniques to make appropriate adjustments to the anesthesia plan. The CRNA must be able to work with the growth and development needs of all client populations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree from an approved and accredited educational program in the specific area of advanced practice.
• Current, unencumbered licensure to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) from the State Board of Nursing in the state(s) of practice, and/or multi-state licensure privileges as required by the position.
• CRNA certification maintained through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
