About The Position

This is a part-time CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) position focused on in-house OB (Obstetrics) coverage, specifically for weekends. The role involves 24-hour shifts and requires a licensed RN with a graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program. While no prior experience is required for a beginning practitioner, the position demands strong communication and technical skills, particularly in intubation and invasive line insertion. The work environment includes potential exposure to anesthetic gases, moderate to high noise levels, and long clinical hours, with the OR being the principal workplace. The role also emphasizes teamwork, resource conservation, and providing age-appropriate patient care.

Requirements

• RN license from the State of applicable state.
• CRNA, BCLS, and ACLS certifications.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Nurse Anesthesia.
• Certified or eligible for certification by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
• Solid oral and written communication skills.
• Good technical skills in intubating and insertion of invasive lines.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates perioperative response to age appropriate patient needs.
• Appropriately documenting according to departmental and hospital standards.
• Maintains flexibility with scheduling, promptness and readiness with equipment and case.
• Professionalism through teamwork and support.
• Conserves resources to address cost containment.
• Ensures age/developmentally appropriate patient care is provided in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.
