About The Position

The CRNA II is a board-certified licensed clinician who provides anesthesia services to all patients in the organization. General responsibilities include reviewing patients' medical history, administering and managing anesthesia, and monitoring the patient during the procedure or perioperative period. The incumbent is responsible for supplying documentation of continued registration as a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist). As a CRNA II for the Pediatric Team you will: * maintain an active clinical practice in pediatric anesthesia, demonstrating competency in clinical skills and judgment. * serve as a clinical resource and consultant for CRNAs and other members of the care team on pediatric cases, and collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. * be responsible for developing and maintaining an orientation program for new CRNAs and SRNAs in the pediatric specialty. * create and deliver educational content, such as lectures and skill checks, on topics relevant to pediatric anesthesia. * provide ongoing education regarding the pediatric specialty with updates on new protocols and research and serve as a mentor and preceptor for both CRNAs and SRNAs. * participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the pediatric anesthesia service, monitor compliance with departmental policies and procedures, and maintain a list of all ongoing QI projects within the specialty

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Nurse Anesthesia Practitioner required
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist [CRNA (NBCRNA)] - National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) required
  • Massachusetts Registered Nurse License required
  • Basis Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support required
  • Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical conditions and interpret findings.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  • Thorough preparation of content and ability to confidently deliver engaging findings to select audience.
  • Ability to solve problems within the scope of their expertise and explain complex information helping others to understand.
