Fuel Fabrication Criticality Analysis & Nuclear Safety Engineer

Oklo•Idaho Falls, ID
•$120,000 - $190,000

About The Position

As a Criticality Analysis & Nuclear Safety Engineer on Oklo's Fuel Fabrication team, you will develop and maintain the nuclear criticality safety basis and nuclear safety analyses for the design, licensing, construction, commissioning, and operation of advanced nuclear fuel fabrication facilities. The role includes performing computational analyses, establishing engineered and administrative controls for fissile material operations, and collaborating with process, mechanical, operations, licensing, and quality teams to ensure facility designs meet nuclear safety requirements. This is a cross-functional role that values technical excellence and collaboration. The position calls for 3–10+ years of nuclear criticality safety or nuclear safety analysis experience in fuel cycle, reactor, DOE, national laboratory, or other highly regulated nuclear environments. Oklo describes its desired colleague as self-motivated, collaborative, communicative, creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment. Remote employees are required to travel to Oklo headquarters in Santa Clara, California, twice a quarter annually based on business or team needs. Employees must also work in person at headquarters during their first two weeks of onboarding. Salary is $120,000–$190,000. Employment may be contingent on a successful drug screening, and employees may be subject to drug testing in accordance with company policy and applicable laws. The role may involve access to information subject to U.S. export control laws; only applicants who meet the applicable definition of a U.S. person may be eligible.
