About The Position

JLL is seeking a Critical Infrastructure / Operating Engineer to support a highly secure, mission-critical financial services environment and a disaster recovery data center with associated office space. This role is responsible for maintaining 100% uptime through operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, along with monitoring performance and managing vendor activities. The position requires supporting a mission-critical environment with zero tolerance for downtime and involves responsibilities split between two sites in Moonachie, NJ and Jersey City, NJ. The role also requires availability for emergency coverage and after-hours work, as well as the ability to cover multiple client locations as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (technical training preferred)
  • Member in good standing of Local 68
  • Universal CFC EPA Certification
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • New Jersey Blue Seal Refrigeration License
  • New Jersey Black Seal Boiler Operator License
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or building maintenance
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair building infrastructure systems independently
  • Ability to read HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and architectural drawings
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school, union apprenticeship, military service, or college education
  • 5+ years in a mission-critical or financial services environment
  • Experience with DCIM / MCIM systems
  • Experience with Corrigo CMMS, ALC BAS, Siemens BAS

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs (self-perform where applicable)
  • Conduct routine rounds, testing, and system performance analysis
  • Assist with and follow MOPs, SOPs, and procedures for critical equipment
  • Monitor and respond to system alarms and emergencies
  • Oversee vendors and contractors performing OEM maintenance and repairs
  • Maintain logs, drawings, and system documentation
  • Support day-to-day facility operations and client needs
  • Maintain HVAC and associated equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and parts replacement
  • Perform maintenance on fire/life safety, plumbing, structural, and control systems
  • Review service requests to identify and resolve recurring issues
  • Evaluate vendor performance, pricing, and quality of work
  • Ensure accurate deliveries and maintain inventory of tools and materials
  • Follow proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
