This position is responsible for supporting the Compliance and Regulatory Department by executing processes or performing actions designed to maintain PEC’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards. The role involves inspecting and reviewing data for accuracy related to North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards for both Operational Technology (OT) and Informational Technology (IT) environments used in operating PEC’s transmission and distribution systems. The specialist will analyze reporting from automated systems and IT/SCADA groups, verify system updates, patches, and configurations, and ensure baseline documentation, system diagrams, and logging are compliant with NERC Reliability Standards. Responsibilities also include verifying system backup and recovery procedures, participating in performance audits, and verifying account administration and system hardening. The role assists in developing procedures and requirements for systems, analyzing technical information for reports, and preparing reports and data requests. Additionally, the specialist will support subject matter experts, recommend policy revisions, assist in developing external and internal compliance documents, and lead cross-functional teams to gather and verify data. Maintaining current technical knowledge of NERC/Texas RE Requirements, implementing policies, and preparing/presenting compliance materials are key aspects. The role also involves participating in industry stakeholder groups and preparing for Texas RE Audits.
