About The Position

JLL is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, mechanical, CRAC, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment and systems in assigned facilities. The role focuses on ensuring efficient operation, maximizing equipment life expectancy, maintaining energy efficiency, ensuring safety, and minimizing downtime through proactive repairs. The technician will perform inspections and repairs on interior and exterior building areas, including walls, flooring, roofing, and lighting. A strong emphasis is placed on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all systems. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations, Material Handling Equipment) and be multi-skilled in others to successfully complete daily tasks. This role operates within critical environment protocols and MOP processes.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of technical experience in all aspects of building engineering with a strong background in the technical aspects of packaged HVAC, plumbing, electrical, production equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of overall system design and applications.
  • Experience working in Data Centers/ Raised Floor Environment.
  • Strong Customer Service and Interpersonal skills.
  • Universal EPA 608 Certification (or within 90 days of employment).
  • CRAC (Liebert) maintenance and repair experience.
  • Licenses as required by authority having jurisdiction.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
  • Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration and HVAC, plumbing or other craft skills.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be available for Call-in work and perform other duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems, equipment, and components.
  • Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC systems and CRAC units, associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repairs, and related grounds.
  • Study and become familiar with critical environments, various equipment, and proper usage methods for daily activities, including building automation systems, fire/life safety systems, and other building-related equipment.
  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions impacting client occupancy and operations.
  • Complete Hazard Assessments as necessary.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
  • Recognize and propose methods to eliminate danger and safety hazards.
  • Maintain compliance with State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
  • Complete all required safety trainings as scheduled.
  • Submit P-card Receipts Daily.
  • Update work order status in real time.
  • Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed.
  • Perform Vehicle Safety Inspection.
  • Escalate problems or issues to Customer and Manager in a timely manner.
  • Attend work and safety meetings as required.
  • Perform any and all other duties and tasks assigned.
