About The Position

Fluor Constructors is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician - Electrician with an active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance. This role involves performing a variety of industrial electrical trade functions, including the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment for electric energy generation, distribution, and utilization. The technician will work with voltages up to 13.2kV, including maintenance and troubleshooting of switchgear and breakers, and perform installation of new systems (typically low voltage <600V). The position may be located in various environments, from conventional office spaces to project worksites with harsh conditions. The role may also involve supervising employees, apprentice electricians, or subcontractor personnel under the direction of management and reporting to the Lead Maintenance Electrician.

Requirements

  • Must have an active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
  • A combination of education and directly related experience equal to four (4) years
  • Must be an experienced Journeyman Electrician with valid state issued electrical license and relevant industry experience.
  • Requires the job knowledge, skill level and physical ability necessary to perform assigned job functions.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language at the intermediate level as necessary to perform assigned job functions.
  • Basic skills and physical ability necessary, to include, but not limited to the ability to stand, kneel, or crouch for long periods of time to perform assigned job functions.
  • Problem solving, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of industrial electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
  • Installs or repairs industrial electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, chiller units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
  • Maintains repair and maintenance records.
  • Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, in accordance with the NEC.
  • Locates and diagnoses problems in the electrical system or equipment.
  • Performs standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
  • Uses a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
  • Works with voltages up to 13.2kV to include maintenance/troubleshooting of switchgear and breakers.
  • Performs switching on medium voltage gear (5kV), in accordance with a switching plan.
  • Performs installation of new systems (typically low voltage <600V).
  • May supervise employees, Apprentice Electricians, or subcontractor personnel in accordance with the “General Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities” addendum, NEC standards, and report to Lead Maintenance Electrician.
