About The Position

This role supports the day-to-day operations and key project initiatives throughout the region, serving as the main point of contact for external consultants driving critical operations. The position involves close collaboration with technology partners to deliver change, environment status, and reporting for all offices and data centers within the region. The Critical Facilities Engineering Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance, operations, and projects to ensure seamless, 24x7 service delivery aligned with core business requirements. This includes managing vendor contracts, financial tracking (CapEx and OpEx), and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. The role also involves managing the technology change management process, coordinating site shutdowns, and preparing necessary documentation and reporting for both internal stakeholders and global headquarters.

Requirements

  • 10+ years managing critical infrastructure for Investment Banks.
  • Knowledge and use of financial tools.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver key information to stakeholders and in large group settings.
  • Organizational skills for keeping track of various schedules, timelines, and initiatives.
  • Understand and implementation of finance and budgeting.
  • Training and/or certifications related to the industry and this role.
  • Bachelors degree or related experience in the critical infrastructure and technology field.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and coordination of all main work streams: Maintenance, Operations, and Projects, to ensure a seamless delivery of services on a 24x7 basis.
  • Maintain weekly minutes for weekly calls, including all Business As Usual (BAU) work and Operational Projects.
  • Responsibility for vendor contract agreements, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), purchase orders, invoicing, and variance controls using Mizuho finance framework tools.
  • Update the General Investment Spend (CapEx) tracker, including adding new projects and monitoring spend vs. budget.
  • Review, code, and track all Critical Operational Expenditures (OpEx) and update the Invoice Tracking and Variance Report.
  • Track NYC RPIE filings and RE Tax payments.
  • Enter new contracts in the Contract Portal, maintain the Contract Cost and Expiration Tracker, and ensure appropriate vendors have an MSA.
  • Review and rename contracts using the appropriate naming convention, chase down signatures for approved contracts, and coordinate the onboarding of new entities into the Mizuho Brand.
  • Perform reclass activities to reassign projects from “Construction in Progress” to the appropriate budget class (e.g., FF&E or Leasehold).
  • Review and track monthly energy consumption (kWh and cost) and update monthly/annual reporting for all sites.
  • Conduct infrastructure plant and equipment auditing.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all critical environments and maintenance affecting business units and offices throughout the region, including Global Sites.
  • Enter Service Now Change tickets for all critical events, including offline or partial offline maintenances that could pose a risk to the business.
  • Accountable for onsite supervision for all weekend activities, including being onsite as needed.
  • Provide vendor access support for individual sites on an as-needed basis.
  • Conduct risk and impact analysis of planned and emergency work.
  • Review and update Mizuho policies and procedures for all facilities annually.
  • Provide notification in the D-InfraEarlyWarning Channel in Teams for impactful events (e.g., power events, utility outages, mechanical issues).
  • Input “Start of Day RED/Yellow/Green Status Template” and attend “Start of Day Call” to report on anomalies and weekly notables.
  • Manage the Technology change management process and follow through to completion.
  • Provide weekly updates on scheduled work for all locations and data centers, including meetings with business owners before and after weekend work.
  • Utilize CRES and IT-based tools for notifications and reporting, including entering critical events and BAU maintenance activities into the CRES Critical Infra & Calendar.
  • Chair the weekly review calendar review meeting.
  • Coordinate Site Shutdowns with IT and Business partners, prepare shutdown scripts, and conduct shutdown meetings.
  • Ensure shutdown notifications are issued and communicated appropriately.
  • Manage vendor planned maintenance tasks, contract management, COIs, and designated yearly reviews and updates.
  • Manage overall risks and implementation of all works associated with critical infrastructure for vendors.
  • Assist with BCP/BCM for change management planning, incident management, and reporting.
  • Prepare work schedules and future planning for all locations.
  • Liaise with property owners for their yearly maintenance plans and scheduling.
  • Gather and update site data, including CofIs, primary contact information, and engineer data.
  • Manage documentation, including online storage drives and hard copies such as drawings.
  • Perform asset tagging of all Mizuho equipment and data input into the Aware Manager program.
  • Manage global energy reporting with Headquarters monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
