Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 3+ years mission critical services work/applied learning experience (e.g., high availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields) OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours that may include evening, nighttime, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Ability to meet citizenship verification requirements (U.S. citizenship required for this role due to citizenship-based legal restrictions supporting U.S. government agency customers).
  • Ability to pass a background check conducted through the CJIS criminal justice information system.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an operations specialist in one or more major areas (e.g., electrical, mechanical, controls, generators) and perform advanced tasks independently.
  • Oversee and coach the team in inspecting critical environment-related facility equipment (e.g., controls, HVAC, mechanical systems), building, and grounds regularly for unsafe or abnormal conditions to develop and analyze trends.
  • Monitor maintenance and operations performance using telemetry, control systems, and other platforms, identifying all alarms.
  • Utilize internal computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track equipment assets, complete work order requests, and generate reporting.
  • Safely and quickly respond to and lead an onsite incident response team for abnormal conditions impacting operations, coordinating corrective repairs with other critical facilities professionals.
  • Enhance, develop, or follow emergency operating procedures (EOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to incidents.
  • Gather information and create incident timelines/data, root-cause analyses, and/or action items following abnormal conditions.
  • Guide, oversee, and perform maintenance (planned, predictive, corrective) and repairs following MOPs and SOPs for one or more disciplines and equipment types, escalating when appropriate.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for one type of equipment and oversee daily tasks and troubleshooting within that area.
  • Have a hands-on understanding of equipment operation and troubleshooting within trained disciplines.
  • Provide and/or assign team to escort third-party contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and service providers on site for all severity-level procedures.
  • Coordinate and schedule supplier/vendor on-site activities and recognize when to stop supplier work due to concerns.
  • Participate in getting third-party work underway, ensuring safe start and completion in accordance with practices, procedures, and legislation.
  • Advise junior colleagues on inspection and supervision issues.
  • Provide consultation to lower-level colleagues in troubleshooting systems and problems.
  • Understand, follow, ensure, and coach the team on safety and security requirements (e.g., JHAs, toolbox talks), and business processes and procedures.
  • Proactively ensure safety and security requirements are followed and met for oneself and others.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and escalate immediately when unsafe conditions are observed.
  • Assess and identify appropriate resources and equipment to support EH&S objectives.
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and necessary handoffs.
