About The Position

A Data Center Chilled Water Expert (often titled as Critical Cooling SystemsTechnician, Liquid Cooling SME, or Data Center Facilities Engineer) is responsible forthe technical authority, maintenance, and optimization of large-scale chilled water andliquid cooling systems that protect critical production. Detailed Description● System Maintenance & Operations: Perform advanced preventive, predictive, andcorrective maintenance on 2000 ton air-cooled/water-cooled chillers, pumps, cooling towers, piping networks and associated control systems.● Advanced Liquid Cooling: Act as the primary technical authority for rack cooling,Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), Liquid cooled rack fans and Roof Top Units(RTUs).● Water Chemistry Management: Monitor and maintain technical water chemistryto prevent corrosion and biological growth, conducting regular fluid sampling andpH/conductivity testing.● Troubleshooting & Incident Response: Execute rapid fault isolation forcooling-related alarms and performance deviations● Optimization & Efficiency: Analyze temperature, pressure, and delta-T metrics tooptimize system PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) and energy efficiency.● Vendor & Project Oversight: Supervise third-party service providers during majorrepairs (e.g., chiller teardowns) and support commissioning for newinfrastructure.

Requirements

  • Experience: Typically 5–10 years of hands-on experience in data centers,Computing facilities, or heavy industrial cooling
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep proficiency in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, hydronic balancing, and control schematics.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified HVAC Process Cooling
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling.
  • Manufacturer-specific training on major chiller brands (e.g., York, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric).
