About The Position

Pet Emergency & Referral Center (PERC) in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, is a busy and growing 24-hour Emergency and Specialty hospital seeking a Critical Care Veterinary Technician to join their team. Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician in an ER/Specialty care setting required.
Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.

Nice To Haves

Prior Critical Care experience preferred.
LVT or VTS preferred, but not required.
Fluency in multiple languages a plus.

Responsibilities

Partnering with DVM's in the ER & ICU on triage, patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
Assisting in maintaining detailed medical records and charts, and understanding when to alert the DVM on patient statuses.
Performing nursing care for critical cases, while consistently evaluating patients.
Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment.
Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events.
Surgical assisting for minor (non-specialty) procedures.
Placing IV catheters, urinary catheters and central lines.
Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates.
Advocating for patient and client care at all times.
Communicating with clients for hospital updates, rechecks, reviewing test results, financial updates and general questions.
